Why Acrylic Fabrication is So Well-Suited for Retail Displays

What do you think of when you hear the word “acrylic?” Wall paint? Nail polish? Clear plastic? The variety of answers speaks to the versatility of acrylic fabrication. According to Jim Palmer, president of Palmer Retail Solutions, acrylic is easy to form, fairly low cost, and quickly implemented, because there is no lengthy tooling to be developed.

“You can do just about anything through acrylic fabrication that you can cut and fold paper with,” says Palmer, explaining the adaptability of acrylic sheets. “If you can cut and fold a paper to create a shape, you can do the same with acrylic, with virtually no upfront design or tooling or engineering cost, which makes acrylic a very nice medium for low and medium quantity merchandising solutions.”
